Bandpass Optical Flow for Tagged MR Imaging
نویسندگان
چکیده
MR tagging has shown great promise for detailed noninvasive cardiac motion imaging. We consider here the use of low-frequency tags coupled with gradientbased optical flow estimation to compute cardiac motion. A multiple constraint optical flow method for tagged MRI is formulated by exploiting the Fourier content of the tagged images. The method is validated on simulated tagged data. Keywords— optical flow, motion estimation, cardiac tagging.

On Variable Brightness Optical Flow for Tagged Mri
The problem of computing velocity elds from tagged MR images is considered, with particular attention paid to the image brightness changes caused by tag pattern fading with time. Shortcomings of existing optical ow methods for this application are pointed out and Gennert and Negahdaripour's optical ow method is discussed. This method involves estimation of a local brightness transformation eld ...
متن کاملA novel optical flow method for myocardial deformation analysis from tagged MRI
Background Cardiac motion analysis can play an important role in diagnosis of cardiac disease. Tagged magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) has the ability to directly and non-invasively alter tissue magnetization and produce tag patterns on the deforming tissue [1-3]. This abstract proposes a novel optical flow method for computing the left ventricular systolic dynamics using harmonic phase (HARP) ...
متن کاملTagged MR imaging of intracranial aneurysm models.
We used tagged MR imaging to investigate the flow in two lateral and two terminal saccular intracranial aneurysm models of different neck sizes. Imaging was performed with a 1.5-T superconducting MR system using 2D fast spatial modulation of magnetization (SPAMM) sequences with an intersegmental delay of 25 milliseconds. The flow in the saccular aneurysm models varied with the shape and size of...
متن کاملPreliminary study of tagged MR image velocimetry in a replica of an intracranial aneurysm.
Flow dynamics in intracranial aneurysms and their adjacent parent vessels play important roles in the development and rupture of intracranial aneurysms. Combined with tagged MR imaging and the use of particle image velocimetry software, tagged MR image velocimetry reveals flow vectors, vorticity, and shear strains at each location in the aneurysm replica every 9 milliseconds. This technique is ...
